Workflow cancelling with "Error in request data action"

My workflows are cancelling themselves midway through with the following error:

 Error in request data action. Unauthorized attempt to update collect data task by .The response has not been recorded.

 

Now I have a huge number of half finished workflows that have a status "Error Occured"

I would not expect the workflow to break if a person who doesn't have the correct rights to perform a "Collect data" action tries to perform it.

I need to:

1. Get the workflows out of "error occured" state, so that the workflows can be completed. I would prefer not to cancel and restart them, as alot of work has already been done on the workflow.

2. I would like  to find a way for the "data collection" action not to break if the wrong person tries it out

 

Any help would be great

Workflows cancelled, after delegatealltasks

Hi

We have a situation where our customer needed to change domain users from several workflow tasks, after use nwadmin delegatealltasks the tasks are delegated but the delegated user was unable to complete the task.

After further investigation we found that after delegation the workflow was cancelled with a cryptic error "Failed to Run".

We have hundreds of wokflows instances in this situation. Any help will be appreciated

Using Infopath Task forms to retrieve Item properties

I was starting to look for samples hoe I could create an Infopath Task form that displays information form the item that the task is related to. I do know that the context object has the workflowitemurl (and workflowlistid and workflowitemid), and I have seen the custom task sample (not using Infopath) in the SDK. In that sample the item (and thus its properties) is retrieved using those two context properties using (in C#)

SPList list = Web.Lists[listWorkflowContext.ListID];
item = list.GetItemById(listWorkflowContext.ItemID);

Any suggestions how to proceed? Is there a way to bind to properties of the item using the two context properties? Is there any (Nintex) web service method that I could reuse? Did I overlook some samples?

How to create a document library workflow

To create a workflow for a document library:

  1. Navigate to the Document Library.
  2. In the Ribbon, select the Library tab and click on Workflow Settings.
  3. Click on Create a workflow with Nintex Workflow.
  4. This will open up the workflow designer for the library.

List and Library workflows are different from site workflows, providing different actions and capabilities.

How to delete "Previous versions" of Site Workflows in Nintex Workflow?

To remove previous versions of site workflows:

  1. Navigate to the Settings Icon (in NW2013) or Site Actions menu (NW2010).  
  2. Click on Site Settings.
  3. In the Site Administration section and click on Workflow Settings.
  4. Select the Remove a Workflow link. Locate the version you need to remove and select Remove.

Create an item in Association: task list

I work with reusable workflow and would like to create a task in task list associated with workflow. I only want to create a task and do not want to wait for the task to complete etc...

If I use "Create item" action, there is dropdown with available lists, unfortunatelly there is no option Association: task list

I feel that there should be some other easy way to create an item in dynamic list. Would appreciate if you point me to the solution. Thanks.

Get all user's approval even if one rejects

Hi,

 I have a process where i need to take Approval from Approvers.

Approvers are coming from people and groups field of sharepoint.

I want to generate approval request for all approvals.

I tried using 'Request approval' and 'Assign Flexi Task'. But if any of the approver rejects the request, it cancel's remaining tasks with status set to 'Not Requered'.

But my requirement is that i want to take comments from all approvers and Remaining tasks should not be canceled when an approver rejects his/her task.

I tried generating individual task for each user by using foreach on user collection. But that makes the process sequential and i require it to run in parallel.

Error while using the "create item in another site" action

Hi,

 I try to use the "create item in another site" action to create an item in a custom list in another sitecollection. This site collection is hosted in another webapplication. I always get the following error: Create Site Specific Item Activity Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Afterward I created a new custom list, to figure out if it has something to do with the list itself. the new list only has the standard title column. i get the same result. in other site collection I can use the action and i really don't know why it doesn't work this time.

The ULS log throws out 3 Unexpected errors when the action is executed (I removed our URL):

Hi,

Is there a way to have the "Open this task" button available in the Outlook-message-ribbon, when running a Nintex "Request approval" action?
When using the standard Sharepoint approval workflow this button is available and very useful.

Delegate Task waiting full period, even if task is already done.

I've got a Request Review task going to multiple reviewers. They have 10 days to finish their task (currently testing using 10 minutes). I'm using a Delegate Task action so that if they haven't all finished in 10 days, all pending tasks are delegated to a supervisor. This is working.

However, it's waiting the full 10-minute test period before moving to the next step, even when all reviewers complete their tasks within a couple of minutes. Am I doing something wrong?

Request Data - Custom Infopath form trust issue retrieving data on load

I have a custom InfoPath form for a request data action.  I have a drop down list on the form that I want to retrieve the choices from a query to another list.  I have everything configured properly but it fails when you open the task from saying that there is an error retrieving data from the list.  I navigated to the location where Nintex stores the form and opened it from there and I get a security warning stating that form data could be returned to SharePoint by opening the form.  If you click ok on the warning message the form will open and the drop down is populated from the other list. I have looked at the form options to see if I could sign the form or elevate the trust level, but the options are not available for this form.

Store and Retrieve data actions

Hi,

I am attempting to use Store data and Retrieve data to pass a variable into the next instance that the workflow runs. Am I misunderstanding how these actions work? I tell Store data to store the variable in the current workflow (at the end), and Retrieve data to retrieve the variable from the current workflow (at the start). But nothing happens when an item is created or modified. I don't even get an error.
