Send Notification To Variable for multiple recipients

I want to generate one email for multiple recipients based on the status of items in a list where each list item is assigned to an individual. I was trying to generate a variable containing all the email addresses of these individuals but am not having luck using a string variable type or a person/group variable type.  Is there an example of how to get Nintext to do this?
